When I watch a sporting event I want to see a bunch of of people who have desire and they are there because they love the game, and they'll give it all they have. But lately all I've seen is a bunch of people just playing to look cool and get the next paycheck. That's not what sports are about. It's about playing because you love the game, you never want to do anything else, and the paycheck is just a bonus to the dream your living. I don't see the desire the effort and the drive anymore. Instead it's all about money, and your social status. I really wish there where more athletes that played for more than just a paycheck. | 22/07/2006

While i do agree with you that sports has turned into just a huge money-making industry in many marks, i believe that athletes are sometimes put on a pedal stool. They carry the expectations and hopes for millions of sport fanatics and onlookers. What some people forget is that for some atheletes, sports may just be a career that they embarked on, like other people in other careers, they might have just embarked on that occupation for the pay or they saw no other choice. Sometimes i, myself, critisize athletes for their lack of passion, however i realize that i have a lack of passion for my job, so whom am i to critisize? | 02/09/2009
